Most codecs are installed as DirectShow filters. The MPEG-2 Decoder is called nmpvdec.ax or nmpvdec2.ax and is stored in the WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder or in ProgramFiles/nanocosmos. They can be unregistered from the system by renaming or deleting the files. The proper method is calling "regsvr32.exe /u filename.ax.
Quicktime Codecs:
If the codec is not uninstalled by the setup automatically you need to manually delete the file
from C:\ProgramFiles\QuickTime\QTComponents.
The files are called "nano.qtx" and "nano.qtr" or similar.
