A useable application scenario may be:
- edit your videos with your favorite video editing application, e.g. Adobe After Effects.
- render your videos to IMX with our VCM based AVI codec. The AVI codec has a switch which allows to "bypass" the AVI container and directly write an elementary MPEG file (M2V).

nanoPEG D10 / MPEG IMX Codec
D10 is a SMPTE based video studio / industry standard supported by many professional video manufacturers, e.g. Sony (TM). It is based on an high bandwidth MPEG-2 video bitstream with I-Frames only and 4:2:2 color format.
nanoPEG D10 Codec is available as VideoForWindows codec, DirectShow Filter, or as a standalone application.
With the nanoPEG D10 Codec you may create professional video MPEG material for usage in digital video studio environments compatible with SMPTE international standards.
The codec is available in several options:
M2V elementary file - Raw MPEG video elementary file.AVI container - The MPEG elementary video data is stored in an AVI container with a compression code (FOURCC) of either MMES or MPG2.
For the codec architecture we support
- DirectShow based codec architecture based on most recent Microsoft DirectX technology (not supported by some video applications).
- AVI based codec architecture (VideoForWindows / VCM) legacy, but wider supported architecture, for example Adobe Video products
- Quicktime based codec architecture for Windows and Apple MacOS
- After Effects Import Filter, directly open compressed IMX files in Adobe After Effects
- low level based DLLs based on frame buffers (for developers). The Developer Kit is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux
